Spot Sharks as they swim in the aquarium!


Draw a Shark!  (Scroll down to see helpful hints and images.)

1. Visualize the shark as shapes such as ovals, circles and triangles.
2. Draw those shapes and then use a permanent marker to outline the shark. Use curvy lines.
3. Add details such as a mouth, eyes, gills and spots with a permanent marker. Remember to use different sizes and shapes for the spots.
4. Use watercolors to paint the inside of the shark.

Paint the Shark's environment!

1. Draw with an oil pastel or crayon to draw seaweed. Draw curvy and overlapping lines.
2. Draw with wax anyplace you want white areas.
3. Paint the water using blue watercolor.  Drop yellow watercolor on blue and let it blend to make green. Drop red on the blue and blend to make purples.
4. Pour some salt on a few very wet areas.
5. Let your art dry.  It will take quite a while for the salt to completely dry so watch the sharks in the video; maybe it will be feeding time and you can watch the shark keepers feed the sharks.
6. Brush off the salt.
7. Add details such as splatter, sponge painting, q-tip dots.
8. Sign your work! Lovely!  You can never made a mistake in art! Beautiful work! ​
