Jelly Fish Lesson:
(1) Go to https://www.montereybayaquarium.org/animals/live-cams/jelly-cam/
(2) Look at live cams of jelly fish
(3) Listen to the music, watch the jelly fish and relax.
(4) When you see an image that you like, pause the video and your creativity begins!
Supplies: pencil, permanent markers or crayons or oil pastels, paper, watercolor paint (If you don't have watercolor paint, you can make some by adding a few drops of red, blue and yellow Food Coloring (baking supplies) in separate cup of water, brush.
Procedure:
(1) Draw the shapes that you see on the screen. There are circles and half circles. There are puffy shapes that look like clouds. There are lots of lines that overlap each other. Have fun drawing.
(2) Outline the shapes with crayons or oil pastels or permanent markers. Use thick lines, thin lines, broken lines and squiggly lines.
(3) Turn the video back on and listen to the music and look at the jelly fish floating.
(4) Paint inside the jelly fish with red paint, while it is still wet drop yellow in the jelly fish, then drop some blue and move your paper around to mix the colors.
(5) After painting inside of the jelly fish, let the painting dry for about 5 minutes.
(6) Paint the background or negative space of your art.
(7) Relax, watch the live cam of the jelly fish while your painting is drying.
(8) Add details: Splatter paint on the entire painting or add dots with your crayon or permanent maker---have fun! Sign your art!
